Michael E. Arata - President and Chief Executive Officer
Michael E. Arata, President and Chief Executive Officer of MediScan, is a management consultant with extensive experience in corporate financial strategies and management information systems. Mr. Arata has particular expertise in document imaging systems, strategic financial management, accounting/auditing systems and procedures, systems integration and database management for United States and international companies. He has worked extensively in facilitating solutions to clients' problems in all areas of financial operations and management reporting.
Mr. Arata has over twenty-five years of experience in corporate financial management and systems development and integration. His areas of specialization include: document imaging systems including workflow and paper management, business management, accounting and auditing procedures, financial management, data processing, sales and marketing and materials management. Prior to forming MediScan, Mr. Arata was chief financial officer and executive vice president for several high technology firms in Silicon Valley.
Mr. Arata holds a J.D. from Lincoln University and a B. S. in Business Administration from Menlo College.
Bruce Knef - Vice President, Marketing
Bruce Knef brings to MediScan 30 years of sales, marketing and business development experience, primarily within the professional service industry. Mr. Knef has helped numerous companies successfully roll out new products. Most recently, he introduced Ascend Aviation to a number of professional sports teams, resulting in long-term charter contracts. He also introduced Education World, an on-line company, to prospective customers prior to the company being sold.
Mr. Knef previously played a role in helping to start and finance National Media Technologies, an industry leader in providing SEC Edgar filing services. He has held successful sales and marketing positions for International Document Services Corporation, Chas P Young, Scott Printing Corp. and R. R. Donnelly & Sons. He started his career with Consumer Planning Associates as a partner in a life insurance agency for Fireman's Fund Insurance. Mr. Knef has built a solid reputation with his expertise in evolving start-up ventures into companies with national scope.
Ralph J. Powell - Vice President, Sales
Ralph Powell has extensive sales and marketing experience with high technology systems for commercial and government applications. Prior to joining MediScan Systems, Mr. Powell was Senior Vice President of ARS Systems in Florida, a high technology communications systems manufacturer and developer. Mr. Powell has extensive experience as a research engineer and program manager with the U.S. Government, and with sales and marketing management.
Mr. Powell has successfully managed the definition and implementation of multimillion-dollar high technology projects including medical diagnosis, digital image processing, data storage and retrieval, communication, and air traffic control systems. Many of his projects were approved and financed by various government organizations such as the United Nations Development Project office, World Bank Program office, U.S. Export-Import Bank, and the U.S. Agency for International Development.
Mr. Powell has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Monmouth College and attended Business Administration studies at the Harvard School of Business.
