HIPAA Compliance Statement

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 was designed to assist the healthcare industry in the US to become significantly more efficient and cost-effective, while ensuring the privacy, confidentiality and security of clients' data. These regulations offer enormous long-term financial benefits to healthcare enterprises individually and to the entire U.S. healthcare system by simplifying the administration of the system and enabling health care business to be conducted electronically in a standardized manner. HIPAA compliance does, however, present challenges, most significantly, in the implementation of potentially major changes to business processes, cultural values and provider-consumer relationships.

We at MediScan are well aware of the level of commitment and dedication that is required at all levels within the healthcare industry. This commitment must be supported by the most current management information systems. We are dedicated to making sure that all aspects related to HIPAA compliancy are addressed in the most effective manner. MediScan products are formatted using the current ANSI (American National Standards Institute) Accredited Standards Committee's X12N Insurance Subcommittee (ASC X12N) standards.

MediScan will continue to monitor further HIPAA requirements to guarantee timely implementation of their provisions. We are dedicated to assisting our clients to take full advantage of the efficient and cost-effective electronic data interchange (EDI) developments in the healthcare industry, while insuring security and privacy of their information.
